Overview

  • Travelers:1 - 15 guests
  • Tour Type:Daily tour, Group tour
  • Language:English
This full-day tour is for guests who want to feel Istanbul instead of just ticking off landmarks. You spend the day moving between Europe and Asia, land and sea, palaces and local markets – with a licensed guide keeping everything flowing comfortably.

Your morning starts in the historic Eminönü district, where the air smells of roasted chestnuts and coffee. You walk through the Spice Market, past pyramids of saffron, dried fruits and Turkish delight, while your guide introduces you to the old trade routes that fed the city for centuries.

Then you board a Bosphorus boat and watch Istanbul open up from the water. As the boat glides between the two continents you see palaces, wooden yalıs (mansions) and fortress walls sliding past on both sides. The skyline shifts constantly: domes and minarets behind you, suspension bridges above, villas tucked into the green slopes ahead.

Back on land, you cross to the Asian side and visit elegant Beylerbeyi Palace, the 19th-century summer residence of the Ottoman sultans. Crystal chandeliers, painted ceilings and waterside terraces show the quieter, more intimate face of imperial life. Finally, you drive up to Çamlıca Hill, one of the highest points in the city, for panoramic views over both continents and the Bosphorus below.

Throughout the day, pick-up, transport, lunch and main entrance fees are already handled, so you can concentrate on enjoying the city and asking questions, not on logistics.

Frequently asked questions

Is this tour suitable if I get seasick easily?

The Bosphorus is generally calm, and the boats are large and stable. However, if you are very sensitive to motion, we recommend bringing your usual sea-sickness tablets or wristbands. You can also sit on the lower deck where movement feels gentler.

What should I wear for the palace and mosque areas?

Smart-casual, comfortable clothing is ideal. Shoulders and knees should be covered when entering mosque courtyards or interiors; women may be asked to cover their hair in active mosques. Beylerbeyi Palace has indoor areas, so we also recommend comfortable shoes with good grip for polished floors.

Is hotel pick-up available from all areas of Istanbul?

Pick-up is generally offered from central European-side districts (Sultanahmet, Sirkeci, Beyoğlu/Taksim and nearby). Guests staying on the Asian side or further out may be asked to meet at a central point; exact arrangements are confirmed at booking.

How big is the group?

This is a regular/group tour, not private. The maximum is around 40 travellers, with transport in an air-conditioned coach and a single licensed guide. If you prefer a private version with your own vehicle and guide, Kuantum can run the same route as a Private Two Continents & Bosphorus Day Tour on request.
